Not sure why, but today my boss and I are listening to a Christmas Story cassette for Jungle Jam and Friends. His daughter loves it so we decided to pop it in and work through some Adultitus.
Listening to it though brought back memories of my favorite kids story album I listened to as a child. It was called “It’s Cool in the Furnace”. Doing some research and posting to the Idol Stalker blog I write for b5media this evening and came across a free download of Ayla Brown singing “Breath of Heaven”. Ayla Brown was a contestant on Season 5 of American Idol along with Katharine McPhee, Chris Daughtry and winner Taylor Hicks.
The song is available as a free download in MP3 format. She does a really great job on this track. I haven’t heard her full album yet, but after hearing this, it may be a purchase I need to be pursuing further.

I just had someone invite me to be their “peep” on MyCCM. His profile name is AorphiaA. His music sounds similar to Yanni, which I’ve always liked. AorphiaA event attributes Yanni as one of his favorite influencing artists on his profile.
AorphiA attributes his musical abilities as a gift as he doesn’t know how to read music. He just writes down and plays what’s in his head. I’ve heard this is the same with Yanni as well.

Hopefully I’ll be heading to Cincinatti in February to experience this concert with some friends and family that live in the area. Looks to be a great concert with performances from:

Tickets are only $10 at the door. No pre-ticket purchase is required. Hopefully that doesn’t result in a mad house or overcrowding for the concert. I continue to listen to the album I received for free from Derek Webb entitled “Mockingbird“.
As I am listening to it now, I had to share the lyrics from the second song on the album entitled “A New Law”. I came from a great church heritage and am thankful for how I was raised and taught in the church. However, as I’ve grown I’ve come to belief that there’s much more freedom in being a Christian than was taught to me.
