When Did You Fall In Love With Me?

When Did You Fall In Love With Me?

Okay, so else thinks that Chris Rice might have jumped the shark with his current adult-contemporary, easy-listenin’ hit, “When Did You Fall In Love With Me?”
I listened to an interview with him recently about this song and what was the story behind it, and he mentioned something to the effect that there were a million great love songs out there and he just wanted to write one.

Yikes, Chris! Honeychile, let me tell you something. The fact that there ARE a million craptacular love songs out there is precisely why you shouldn’t have added one more to the mix! I actually …read more

Superchic[k]

Superchic[k]

I’m totally rocking out to Superchic[k] right now; if you go to Superchic[k] site right now, you can listen to snippets of songs from their album, Beauty from Pain. I love the lyrics from “Pure”:
“This is my brand new day starting now
I let go the things that weigh me down
And rob me of the beauty that’s to be found in life all around
And this is my prayer without ceasing, the negative releasing
And as I rise above my burden is easing
CHORUS
I bring the pure flow LIKE water around
The rocks of life won’t pull me down
I bring the pure flow drink …read more

BarlowGirl

BarlowGirl

If you’ve ever heard the song “Barlow Girls” from Superchick:
” We met these sisters Barlow’s their last name,
Ordinary girls they don’t live in the fast lane,
They don’t rate with the guys that score,
‘Cause they don’t flaunt what the boys want more.
They don’t date, they won’t date they wanna see,
How they’re gonna’ grow up-who they’re gonna’ be,
But in the meantime they might feel unloved,
When all the girls around them …read more

Rose Robbins – Emerging Artist Spotlight

Rose Robbins – Emerging Artist Spotlight

Okay, quick disclaimer: I know Rose, in fact, she’s one of my oldest friends and I lurve her. She’s gorgeous, funny, has five kids, and sings like an angel – what’s not to love?
Anyway, Rose has recently put out her first CD titled Rain that I think at this point I’ve played 50 bajillion times. Check out Rose’s website to find out more about her and her music. Probably my favorite songs on the album have to be Stained Glass Window and 131; seriously, the 131 (for Psalm 131) song makes me cry every time I listen to it. …read more

Twila Paris – Brand New Website

Twila Paris – Brand New Website

Well, not completely new; but she’s had a complete overhaul on her website, and I have to say it looks sharp! Twila Paris is probably the premier Christian songwriter of her generation, with such classics as Lamb of God, How Beautiful, We Bow Down, We Exalt You, and more. Recently, Twila released a new live worship album-her first live worship album, in fact. Here’s more from Twila’s site:
“In August of 2005, Twila Paris released her 19th album—and her first-ever live recording—He Is Exalted: Live Worship, her first under a new contract with Integrity Music. A big door, indeed, but …read more

What’s your favorite Steven Curtis Chapman song?

What’s your favorite Steven Curtis Chapman song?

Okay, I’ll go first: it’s got to be “I Will Be Here”, probably because that’s my husband’s and I’s special song.
everyone all together go “awwwwww”

Okay, mush part over. Steven Curtis Chapman has had quite the productive career with over 25 albums to date, both his own and collaborations, and has come a long way from his bluegrass/countryish sound at the beginning of his career to a more top 40, contemporary Christian music sound now.

However, the basic message of his music has not changed. One thing that I especially enjoy about SCC are his thoughtful and introspective lyrics – it’s …read more

2nd Chapter of Acts

2nd Chapter of Acts

Well, here’s a blast from the past!! Can you believe this? Do you still have your old 2nd Chapter of Acts albums around?
I have the Roar of Love album they did; it was a concept piece going through C.S. Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia. Pretty decent piece of work other than the enormously cheesy “Turkish Delight “song…I totally loved the “Are You Going to Narnia”, “Son of Adam, Daughter of Eve”, and “White Stag” songs however. Gosh, I loved the whole thing, even the Turkish Delight kind of grows on you after a while.

Just as a footnote: …read more

Switchfoot Rocks

Switchfoot Rocks

“When I look at the STAAAHHHHRRSS, I feel like myself…”
I must say that I find Switchfoot quite rockalicious. Plus, I feel super cool and hip whenever I listen to them, which is a major prerequisite for me to listen to any music (not really).
I don’t have their newest album, but I did see from the

Women of Faith Music

Women of Faith Music

I’ve been to Women of Faith now twice and every time I come away with a renewed sense of purpose and renewal.
One of the biggest things I like about WOF has got to be the music. The Women of Faith Worship Team is awesome, and the music selected always speaks to a wide variety of tastes, from contemporary Christian worship to classic hymns.

This last time the featured music artists were Tammy Trent and
