Remembering You – Steven Curtis Chapman

Remembering You – Steven Curtis Chapman

Go through the world of Narnia with Steven Curtis Chapman in this video and song titled “Remembering You”:
“I found You in the most unlikely way
But really it was You who found me
And I found myself in the gifts that You gave
You gave me so much and I
I wish You could stay
but I’ll, I’ll wait for the day
Chorus
And I watch as the cold winter melts into spring
And I’ll be remembering You
Oh and I’ll smell the flowers and hear the birds sing
and I’ll be remembering You, I’ll be remembering You
From the first moment when I heard Your name
Something in my heart …read more

Ginny Owens – If You Want Me To

Ginny Owens – If You Want Me To

I love Ginny Owens; my favorite song of hers (so far) has to be “If You Want Me To”:

The pathway is broken
And The signs are unclear
And I don’t know the reason why You brought me here
But just because You love me the way that You do
I’m gonna walk through the valley
If You want me to
Chorus:
Cause I’m not who I was
When I took my first step
And I’m clinging to the promise You’re not through with me yet
so if all of these trials bring me closer to you
Then I will go through the fire
If You want me to
It may not be …read more

Watermark at MySpace

Watermark at MySpace

Okay, I listened to the Watermark album like five times this holiday weekend. Seriously. I know I’ve blogged about this before but now I think I might be getting a bit ridiculous about it. I just LOVE this album so much that if I listen to anything else I’m subconciously wishing it was Watermark.
Well, anyway, you can check out the semi-lame Rocketown Records MySpace site and see news about all the Rocketown artists, including Watermark, Ginny Owens, and founder Michael W. Smith.

Christian Instrumental Music

Christian Instrumental Music

There is a TON of great Christian instrumental music out there; here are a few of the albums that I own myself:

: One of my favorite CD’s. Beautiful music for a rainy day. My fifth grader actually requests this one.

: You knew I’d have to include Phil Keaggy on this list! Incredible guitar work and lovely melodies.

: Not necessarily Christian music, but there’s Christian hymns on here. My all-time favorite Christmas music album that I listen to all year round.

What’s Wrong With Christian Music Today?

What’s Wrong With Christian Music Today?

Here’s a pet peeve of mine: some of what is popular in Christian music today is so horrible, musically and lyrically, that I literally dive for the radio tuner as soon as these particular songs come on. Case in point:Sunrise to Sunset, by Paul Wright. GAH. He sounds like he’s singing from a phonebooth and the “hook” of the song apparently consists of just repeating the phrase “from sunrise to sunset” 345 times.
Another thing I don’t get is the aforementioned phonebooth effect. Why in the world do Christian artists especially seem to love this sound effect? If you listen to your …read more

And speaking of Women of Faith…

And speaking of Women of Faith…

I can’t wait to go to Women of Faith in October. I go every year with my mother in law, her sister in law, my cousin in law, my mom, and any other ladies we can coerce encourage to come. It’s an incredible experience. All day conference, wonderful speakers, funny skits, music, the works. I hope to go to the pre-conference this year as well.
It’s SO important for us women to carve time out of our busy schedules to go to conferences like this every once in a while. I know that if I don’t get my “me time, …read more
