U2, Bono and Christianity
I know, I know Bono is now promoting AIDS relief by selling candy-apple red iPods, a portion of which will be given to help fight AIDS in Africa. (A bit of advice, if you really care about fighting AIDS, forgo the iPod all-together and donate everything to AIDS relief.
What I’m more interested in discussing now though is the what U2 and Bono are doing to promote Christianity. It’s been awhile since I’ve posted about mainstream artists being overtly or covertly Christian and those were quite active posts.
I just read a great paper that’s available on The Thoughtful Christian website entitled “The Music and Message of U2″. It’s an article that’s available for purchase in PDF format for $5. At the request of the author, he’d prefer I not share any details about the article specifically, but it was interesting and worth $5.
Has anyone read this? What are your thoughts on U2? Bono? I’m looking forward to your comments.

We just received the book “U2 by U2″ at the library where I work part time (processing all the books, lucky me!). It’s now on my list of books to look through, but I’ve got too many ahead of it to think that I’ll get to it real soon…maybe I should move it up to the top of the pile
I’ve always been willing to take someone’s word for it when it comes to matters of faith. You’ll know them by their fruit, not by their hit records or even necessarily by what they say (although that *can* be an important part of producing fruit, right?). What does the fruit of Bono’s life say?
I’m glad that no one thought to leave me in charge to have to determine these things…LOL!!
We may not know where Bono stands in matters of faith, but there is One who does. He puts me to shame and I claim to follow Jesus Christ! I’ll have to remember to write about Bono the next time I discuss something about Christian charity on my blog.
