Audio Adrenaline Calls It a Wrap

Audio Adrenaline Calls It a Wrap

One of the first Christian music artists I ever really listened to growing up was Audio Adrenaline. For me Newsboys and Audio Adrenaline were the actually cool Christian groups that I might get my friends to listen to and respect their music. Now after a long, productive and successful career, the guys are calling it a wrap for the group. The move is led by their lead singer still struggling with his voice. Understood given the decade and a half they’ve been rocking venues and music festivals.
Although retiring due to front man Mark Stuart’s ongoing vocal challenges, the band has …read more

Jessie Daniels for FREE

Jessie Daniels for FREE

You can currently download the song “What I Hear” from HearItFirst’s website if you’re a member of their e-mail newsletter.
“What I Hear” is from Jessie Daniels self-titled debut album.
Jessie’s got a nicely designed website for herself. You can see some other photos of her and listen to a few of her songs and see some video clips as well as read her online journal.
The photo there is from her website. Is it just me, or does she look like Carrie Underwood of American Idol fame as a brunette?

Jeremy Riddle “Full Attention” Reviewed on Crosswalk

Jeremy Riddle “Full Attention” Reviewed on Crosswalk

Crosswalk.com has a good review of an upcoming worship artist named Jeremy Riddle. They compare and liken him to the voices of Jeremy Camp or Jason Morant.
Following on the heels of modern worship staples Chris Tomlin, Todd Agnew and David Crowder, “Full Attention” features 12 of Riddle’s original worship tracks, produced by Bob Hartry (the Emmy-nominated producer/songwriter who’s also a guitarist for Los Angeles band Kite7). With a voice and sound reminiscent of Jeremy Camp or Jason Morant, Riddle fits well into the Vineyard family.
I’ve been a big fan of Jeremy Camp, so I’ll have to see if I can grab …read more

Our Worship Set Today

Our Worship Set Today

A good service today at church for me. We sang some of my favorite songs:

My Saviour My God – Aaron Shust
Still – Reuben Morgan
This Is Our God – Chris Tomlin
Trading My Sorrows – Darrell Evans

This Is Our God is absolutely great, but “Still” is really growing on me as well. It’s got a great message and feel to it. It really leads me into worship and sets my focus on things I should be focused on.
What are some of your favorite songs that lead you into the spirit of worship?

Big Shiny Planet

Big Shiny Planet

Has anyone seen this yet? It’s a new Bible study series for youths that build on the Christian Music industry by providing different artists and groups to actually lead the study.
The Big Shiny Planet effort seems like a pretty cool idea to me, especially for a youth group. I’m not sure how well it would do out of that age group and demographic, but that’s okay. Focus on something and be excellent at it right?
With artists like Barlow Girl, Building 429 and Stellar Kart, there should be some instant connections between members of the youth group and the artists leading …read more

Inspiring Music Video

Inspiring Music Video

Does this kind of music and video do anything for you? It’s nicely done. It’s good music. Nice video footage. But does it inspire you? What if they showed it in your church on Sunday?
Just curious.

No Dove Awards for Me

No Dove Awards for Me

I’m pretty miffed right now. Just realized that the 38th Annual Dove Awards will not be televised this evening. Instead they’ll be televised in May. I checked the scheduled airtimes so far and there’s not a single station showing it in the Indianapolis market.
That just stinks!
It seals the deal though for me for next year. I’m going down in person for the week next year!

Melinda Doolittle Performs “There Will Come A Day” on American Idol

Melinda Doolittle Performs “There Will Come A Day” on American Idol

I’m just catching up on tonight’s episode of American Idol and their special “Idol Gives Back” show. What a great effort by an organization with some serious clout and weight that could really get some things changed. A single sponsor will be donating $5M if there are 50 million votes casted tonight.
Melinda Doolittle performed a song by Faith Hill titled “There Will Come A Day” from her “Breathe” album. I’m not a country music fan, so I’d never heard this song before that I can remember. However, with Melinda Doolittle performing it for what I consider the first time I’ve …read more
