Pre-Order The Ringing Bell from Derek Webb

by Jason Bean on April 15th, 2007

The Ringing Bell by Derek WebbOne of the most recent artists I’ve been introduced to and loved is Derek Webb. He has a new album, and a graphic novel, coming out entitled “The Ringing Bell” that you can pre-order.

If you visit the site you can listen to the album in streaming format and preview the images that appear in the accompanying book. I like the graphic quality of the images. Very stark, strong lines and bold colors. Pretty much black, white and red.

His lyrics are very powerful and by the titles of the songs on this album, I’m sure there’s going to be some really challenging messages being spoken and heard in our lives.

For those that pre-order the album now from the website, you can then immediately download the entire album in digital format. How’s that for a marketing option. You don’t see the big labels doing that kind of stuff now do you?

How many other Derek Webb fans are there out there? I’d love to hear from you.

1 opinion for Pre-Order The Ringing Bell from Derek Webb

I’m another big Derek Webb fan. I found him by accident. I was never into Caedmon’s Call much, but I got Andrew Peterson’s “Behold the Lamb of God” CD (another amazing artist if you haven’t heard his stuff–powerful lyrics with intricate, beautiful music that stirs the soul), and Derek sings a song called “Deliver Us” on that. I searched him online and picked up “She Must and Shall Go Free.” I’ve been hooked on him ever since.

Webb’s music is so true, so challenging, and so brave. The guy’s got guts…but he’s out there, preaching the gospel message that we should love our enemies and that love really is NOT against the law. That may not sell many records, but it’s made a huge difference in my life.

Great to find another big DW fan.

    Blessings,

    Scott
