I’ve heard Mandisa’s song “Only the World” three times today on K-LOVE and it’s an uplifting and catchy tune for sure. It kind of reminds me of some old Anointed songs with the rhythm and tempo.
It’s really great to see Mandisa getting this album released and staying with her Christian beliefs and using her talent in the industry. She’s really got the talent, that’s undoubted. I think this continues to show that even with the drama and spectacle that surrounds American Idol, it really is uncovering some great talent.

My friend RodeoClown gave me a little feeling of serendipity this evening. He had a post about the lyrics for the Newsboys song “Lost the Plot”. What’s odd is that it was just on the radio as I was in the car earlier and the lyrics struck a cord with me.

My church is having Craig Gross, pastor of XXXChurch.com at our church in June. Lot’s of debate and discussion among our members about whether they should be coming into our church or not. Are we in denial? Would you have them at your church?
I’ll bet if you’re not willing to sing a secular song in church you’d probably have a tough time getting this approved in one of your services.

Here’s a video blog update for how Mark’s doing in his tour across America on his bike. He’s 3 days ahead of schedule and the video below shows him suprising his family at their family reunion that they didn’t think he’d be around to participate in because of his bike tour.

I’m still trying to confirm whether or not I’ll be able to meet Mark for a photo op when he comes through Indianapolis. You can be sure I’ll let you know and have photos if it happens.

I’m very interested in hearing your thoughts on this video. It’s a bit long, but you can listen to this guy “preach” while you’re working on something else and get an idea about it.

I wonder if this guy remembers or knows that many of our beloved hymns were bar songs originally. Honestly, it sounds like he could be preaching in churches I grew up in because lots of his comments around the “bad” music is bad because it leads to dancing. I remember when I first heart Mat Kearney, I wasn’t introduced to him as a new Christian artist, but he is, even though he doesn’t really prefer to use the label as such. With his popularity lately, it seems he’s getting more opportunity to witness than others in the Christian music industry.

Spiderman 3, Shrek the Third, and Pirates of the Carribean 3. Seems to be the summer for sequels. And as if they haven’t had enough hits already, Casting Crowns will be releasing their own 3rd album in August. The expected date is August 28th according to CCM magazine.

I think it’s about time to spotlight another emerging and independent group trying to make it in the world of Christian music don’t you?
People in a Box is a group that focuses on and specializes in dance/club music with a Christian message.
