Popularity of Local Christian Radio Stations - Do you have one you love?
The beginning of this year, one of our local Christian radio stations, 93.9 The Song, changed formats from Christian music to talk radio. Although I’m generally a fan of talk radio if the programming is right, I’ve missed having the 93.9 option on my radio for my drives into work in the mornings.
The bonus of the change was that the new station format did bring in Dave Ramsey in the afternoons, which I’ve enjoyed when I’ve been in the car.
A news story today though said that this station is now fighting for it’s life in the new format and therefore the future is somewhat unknown for the format. Prior to switching, the station had a strong 3.7 point rating in the Christian music formatting.
What radio stations do you have in your areas? Let me hear back from you with your city, station ID and even the station’s website if you know what it is. Maybe we can introduce some stations to other people in your cities and help increase their listening audiences. In your comments, let us know why you like your station above the others in your area.
I’d love to get the station back, but I’d hate to lose Dave Ramsey in the process.

when I moved out here to Ohio we had 1, but it never played any decent music. 103.3 WCRF (Moody Bible Institute) (and am900 WCER that never came in), then we got 95.9 WNPQ which was greate even if they do do a lot fo nascar race coverage instead of normal programming. Then we added 95.5 WFHM The fish, which didn’t have the edge to the music 95.9 did and interfered with it something terrible or I’d still listen to it.
However I have just this month discovered 90.5 which I THINK is WHVT but it has halted my station surfing a good 5 times out of the last 10 which is really good because when I start station surfing, I almost never land on anything. They have some good speakers and dare to play good 80 & 90’s christian classics.
Online I stick with http://acaza.com/ and http://klove.com/ :) Mostly Acaza.
