New Artist Spotlight - until June

Inaya e-mailed me today to let me know about a new group named “until June“. I’d never heard of them and the way she described them to me made me think I’d really like their sound, and I was right.
They are an LA based band that writes incredible songs with great harmonies and instrumentation. Its pretty original. their lyrics are pretty soulful and quite moving.
She let me know that they have their website at www.untiljune.com and like any good band nowadays, they have a MySpace page where you can preview a few of their songs.
I’m listening to “All I Have” right now and just finished “What I’ve Done“. I do really like the group’s sound. Inaya was right on, their harmonies are great and the production value of the album is very nice in that I can hear the vocals clearly but the instruments aren’t lost behind anything either.
The band has a great story behind them and their name. The trio left Arizona and moved to Los Angeles determined to make it. Their name “Until June” came from their self-imposed deadline of making it as a group. Before June they signed with Flicker Records/Sony-BMG and have their album produced by Brian Garcia, who’s produced other artists like American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson; as well as Our Lady Peace and King’s X.
I’m trying to think of who they sound like to compare them to, but nobody is really coming to mind right now.
Has anyone else heard of this group? What do you think?

Amazing band. We’re beginning to promote them and push heavily. I hope listeners will open their mind and heart to their sound and message.

Hey! I agree with you. It really is hard to nail down who or what they sound like. His voice is pretty regular in a lot of ways, but I really like their production and I love how melodic they are. Very enjoyable music, lyrics and all.
