American Idols Sing "Shout to the Lord"
Do my ears deceive me? Are the final 8 American Idol finalists singing a boldly worship song by Darlene Zschech, “Shout to the Lord”.
This is old news I guess now but I’m just now catching up. They performed this song last night for “Idol Gives Back” on Wednesday night but U-verse failed to realize that “Idol Gives Back” is part of the American Idol series recording.
Luckily they performed it again tonight and I got to see it.
Aside from being surprised, could you tell which singers didn’t appear to be too excited to be singing the song? What do you think? Am I reading too much into facial expressions?

yeah…we just saw it tonight (Thursday) and were quite surprised. There were a couple of idols who didn’t seem excited about my “Idol”…but overall…I was really impressed.

Wow! If we had more moments like last night on Idol when they sang “Shout to the Lord’, this would be a much kinder nation.. I’m amazed and surprised and VERY happy to have been there at the unexpected singing of that wonderful Christian song!! Thank you God!

I saw this on TV and didn’t gather any particular feelings from the contestants however, think of how many people who were watching this episode. Regardless of their “preference”, they sang their hearts out to this song and the words of God were heard by millions-some of whom would never have “tuned in” intentionally. After watching this again on UTube I think this rendition was awesome and hope it impacted the hearts of viewers - or - any contestant that may not know the Lord. I imagine in preparation for this song there may have been discussions amongst the contestants. Think of the opportunity that was opened during that time for believers to minister.
