Jason Castro Performs “I’m Not Who I Was”

As I was looking for a new video of Brandon Heath’s new song “Give Me Your Eyes” I came across this other great song by Brandon, but American Idol’s Jason Castro is performing it in the video below.

Jason still has the sound that I like, I’m sure his album will be one I purchase when it comes out. My question is whether or not it will be released on a Christian label or not.

Give Me Your Eyes – Brandon Heath

Give Me Your Eyes – Brandon Heath

Today in our service our special song was a new one by Brandon Heath called “Give Me Your Eyes”. My wife had told me about it earlier this week and told me I should find the video on YouTube and blog about it.
I found the two videos below, I like the first one much better.

This one is taken from the actual recording it sounds like and is put together with still images in Microsoft Photo Story or something.
The next video is from a live performance with a guy performing live beat-box percussion with Brandon Heath playing. It seems like …read more

Upcoming New Artist

I was just introduced to a new artist tonight by the name of Megan Krantz. Here’s a video of her performing her song “So Few Words”.

Another great find! It’s interesting I want to see new but familiar sounding music, which is good.
What do you think?

Our New Sermon Series at Church

Our New Sermon Series at Church

Warning, not directly related to Christian music. However, it’s related to our church services and worship experience we try to set in our church so I figured it might be interesting to some of you.
Spent quite a bit of time at the church last night working on the new set for our new sermon series titled “DISCIPLE”. We had originally wanted to project the letters “DISCIPLE” onto the back wall with people’s faces inside the letters like this.

Due to some funding constraints on projectors that would make this work we decided we just couldn’t swing it. We finally landed …read more

“Who Am I” Blacklight Performance

“Who Am I” Blacklight Performance

“Who Am I” by Casting Crowns, one of my favorite songs, performed by a blacklight drama group at a church. I’ve seen this similar performance done to this song live and it’s quite moving.
Who’d have though! Blacklights in church!
What do you think? I love it. Do you have a video like this you’d like to share? Just let me know.

Sarah MacIntosh – The Waiters, The Watchers, The Listeners

Sarah MacIntosh – The Waiters, The Watchers, The Listeners

I guess it’s a pretty good problem to have in that I’m getting introduced to so much great music I can’t keep up. The latest album for me to review comes from Sarah MacIntosh and the album “The Waiters, The Watchers, The Listeners, The Keepers & Me”.
Perhaps the longest album title I’ve ever seen, but perhaps it’s a reflection of the depth of good music on this album.
After doing some quick background searching about Sarah I’ve found that she used to be the lead singer for a group called “Chasing Furies”, which you may be familiar. If so, then …read more

Point of Grace Performs at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN

According to the Point of Grace website, the group is losing Heather out of the group as she tries to balance more life and less work with her family. Absolutely understandable but she will be missed.
That didn’t stop the remaining members from performing at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN recently.
