I received an email in my Inbox the other day letting me know I could catch Toby Mac in concert at my local theater. My initial thoughts on something like this weren’t very high. I didn’t really understand why anyone would want to go watch a music concert at their theater. However, after seeing U23D and enjoying the Collective Soul “Home” DVD, the idea might be growing on me.

My recent post about my thoughts on Collective Soul and reading some articles discussed on Christianity Today I thought I’d propose a question to you the readers.
Does a Christian who sings have to be promoted as a “Christian” artist? Are they less of a Christian if they sing in a secular group? Why do we have to have these labels? Do the labels mean anything more than the difference between a blues genre and jazz? Any Collective Soul fans out there? What? They’re not a Christian group? Have you listened to their lyrics? Did you know the lead singer is a preacher’s kid?
I know you can’t just look at some lyrics or assume someone is a Christian by who their dad is, but as I listen to more and more of their music I can’t help but think there’s alot more going on underneath the surface than we think.
