Check-out the new video from Michael W. Smith for the song “How To Say Goodbye”. Powerful song!
The song was written from the inspiration of dropping off his daughter at college. I’ve got two kids of my own, but nowhere near close for them to be dropped off to college. They’re just now starting elementary school.
Powerful song though. Reminds me of when my dad broke down and cried when I got dropped off at school. I was the youngest of three boys and it was tough for him to be entering the empty nest time of his life.

Who would have thought it would have taken this long for Michael W. Smith to be recognized in Music City, USA, a.k.a. Nashville, TN with a star on the Music City Walk of Fame? That’s just what happened today.
Smith comments, “I’m thrilled to share this day with Emmylou, John, Wynonna, The Crickets and Frances. I was surprised when I found out, and am humbled by the honor.”
Jim Caviezel, who portrayed Jesus in the 2005 film The Passion of the Christ, is a longtime friend of Smith’s and will serve as his presenter into the Music City Walk of Fame.

Michael W. Smith will be performing on an upcoming Billy Graham Christmas Special that will be broadcast on television.
Musical performances are woven throughout the program with never-before-seen Christmas music videos from Paul Baloche and Erin O’Donnell, and songs from multi-Grammy Award winning artists Michael W. Smith and Randy Travis. Also included in the program are stirring and sobering testimonies from two different parents who, for very different reasons, are facing Christmas without their sons. Both discuss how they have peace despite the pain of their tragedies.

Last week I was in a conversation with my boss about a Michael W. Smith Christmas concert he attended and said it was probably the best Christmas concert he’s experienced in quite awhile.
