Mandisa’s “Only the World” from her new album
I’ve heard Mandisa’s song “Only the World” three times today on K-LOVE and it’s an uplifting and catchy tune for sure. It kind of reminds me of some old Anointed songs with the rhythm and tempo.
It’s really great to see Mandisa getting this album released and staying with her Christian beliefs and using her talent in the industry. She’s really got the talent, that’s undoubted. I think this continues to show that even with the drama and spectacle that surrounds American Idol, it really is uncovering some great talent.

Rebecca St. James’s “Forgive Me” Available FREE on MySpace
Rebecca St. James and Brian Littrell will be performing together on a Christmas tour. Interestingly enough too, Rebecca St. James also has her own YouTube channel. It’s getting easier and easier for musicians to market themselves with free tools like YouTube and MySpace. Rebecca is very mainstream at this point, but any artist can do the same marketing she’s able to do now and get themselves into the mainstream.

iTunes Is the Key
A recent article on The Unofficial Apple Weblog states that if you’re a musician and your music isn’t available on iTunes, then you don’t matter. Can this really be true? I understand that massive marketing and audience impact of having your information on iTunes, but to say iTunes is the Holy Grail of the music industry and they hold the key to being accepted is a little strong don’t you think?
How does this type of information impact Christian artists? What if you’re on iTunes, but you’re buried in separate levels of genres or lists, is it still worth the impact?

Artist of the Week – Chris Rice
Chris Rice is our “Artist of the Week”. I decided on Chris because I just heard a song of his I’ve never heard of before tonight: “Questions for Heaven”.
