2 Must Add Songs to Your Playlist

In following with a theme that’s going on in the b5 music channel, here are two songs that I think you’ve got to add to your playlist. They’re from a couple of my currently favorite contemporary Christian music artists.

What are some of your “must have” songs for your favorites playlist? Let us know in the comments and let’s introduce each other to some new music maybe.

Mandisa’s “Only the World” Sits at #2 on Billboard

Mandisa’s “Only the World” Sits at #2 on Billboard

Jeanne over at Idol Stalker just gave me the heads-up that Mandisa is doing really well with her debut release. Specifically, her song “Only the World”, she recorded with tobyMac and Kirk Franklin is doing extremely well. So well that she’s only trailing Beyonce on the Billboard Overall Single Sales at #2. Correction: “Only the World” is Mandisa’s solo release from her upcoming album. The song she recorded with tobyMac and Kirk Franklin was “Lose My Soul”, which is also great and can be heard on Mandisa’s MySpace page.
In the original article on Christian Today, Mandisa said this about her …read more

An Old Interview of Kevin Max from DC Talk

An Old Interview of Kevin Max from DC Talk

Of the three performers of the group DC Talk, Kevin Max has probably gotten the least amount of spotlight compared to tobyMac or Michael Tait.
The first is a video interview followed by a video of his performance of “Existence”.

What’s Your Favorite DC Talk Album

DC Talk has a new album coming out. Okay, maybe not new because it’s a Greatest Hits CD, but it’s still a new CD.
As I was looking at this new album though, I started thinking about all the albums they’ve put out and which one was my favorite. It also crossed my mind since I just finished working through an online survey for K-LOVE and the last song on the survey was “Lean On Me”.
So, with that being said, what’s your favorite DC Talk album? Let us know in our latest poll!

Mandisa Releases Album and Book in May

Mandisa Releases Album and Book in May

American Idol seems to be somewhat of the topic du jour recently on a variety of sites, even this one with one of my latest posts. While we’re still on the topic, one of my favorite contestants from last season will be releasing her debut album and a book into stores this May.
From the people that have been working on her album and their previous involvement on other albums, I’ve got some high expectations of her debut release.
Produced by Shaun Shankel (Destiny’s Child, Kimberly Locke), Doubledutch-Robert Marvin and Josiah Bell (tobyMac, Mat Kearney), as well as others to be announced, …read more

Free Music from HearItFirst – tobyMac’s “Love Is In the House”

Free Music from HearItFirst – tobyMac’s “Love Is In the House”

The free song now available from HearItFirst is tobyMac’s “Love Is In the House”. As always the file is available in WMA or M4A format for your choice of Windows or iTunes player.
This wasn’t one of my favorite songs by tobyMac, but hey! you can’t argue with free music right? The current song being played on the radio by tobyMac that I really like is “Made to Love”, that song really rocks. You can get the song free right now when you pre-order “Portable Sounds” from iTunes. tobyMac’s latest album, “Portable Sounds”, hits stores a week from today, Tuesday, February …read more

tobyMac was “Made to Love”

tobyMac was “Made to Love”

I mentioned it briefly in my last post, but I just finished listening to tobyMac’s latest song “Made to Love” from his new album currently being produced.
It really reminds me of the rhythm and lyrical mastering of “Gone”, which is one of my favorite songs.
The only place you can hear the song is at Hear It First.

No really, Hear It First is by far the best site I’ve seen that gives away free music on a regular basis for both your favorites artists as well as introduce you to new artists and expand your horizons. You also get access to exclusive artist video interviews as well, this week they talk to Michael W. Smith.
